Oxfam Pilipinas, LCCAD, UP Resilience Institute bare deal to embed anticipatory action in local planning

Oxfam Pilipinas, Local Climate Change Adaptation for Development, and the UP Resilience Institute are set to collaborate to integrate anticipatory action into local climate adaptation planning and conduct a parametric insurance study to support disaster risk financing.

The organizations announced the partnership at a training workshop on climate resilience, attended by about 50 representatives from the provincial and local governments of Isabela and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

The partnership targets to hold eight trainings in 2026. It would help ensure an inclusive, gender-responsive, and locally-led anticipatory action to support the implementation of Republic Act 12287 or the “Declaration of State of Imminent Disaster Act.”

Oxfam Pilipinas has been championing anticipatory action since 2017. It collaborates with multisectoral partners and explores innovative strategies and applications of anticipatory action.
