Oxfam Pilipinas (formerly Oxfam in the Philippines) is a humanitarian, development and campaigning organization that has been working with partner organizations nationwide since the 1988 for a just and equal future without poverty.
Oxfam’s development work spans the country, with the majority of projects located in Mindanao and Eastern Visayas. Oxfam responds to emergencies in collaboration with local humanitarian partners and leverages its expertise to advocate for policy change and mobilize support for transformation.
Oxfam Pilipinas has a permanent office in Metro Manila and a temporary site in Cotabato City. Local staff work remotely or alongside partners, maintaining flexibility and strong community ties.
It is part of the Oxfam International confederation of 22 organizations networked together in 77 countries as part of the global movement for change, to build a future free from the injustice of poverty.
The name “Oxfam” comes from the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief, founded in the United Kingdom in 1942. The group campaigned for food supplies to be sent through an Allied naval blockade to starving women and children in occupied Greece during the Second World War.
Since then, as well as becoming a world leader in the delivery of emergency relief, Oxfam implements long-term development programs in vulnerable communities. We support the campaigns of civil society to fix the global food system, end unfair trade rules, and to combat climate change.
Oxfam Pilipinas has been a full affiliate of the Oxfam International confederation since March 2025.
Our work can be divided into four key areas:
- Gender Justice – Promoting transformative women’s leadership and women’s economic empowerment, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and preventing gender-based violence (GBV)
- Climate Justice – Campaigning for public policy and investments to ensure a just energy transition that benefits the poor and the vulnerable
- Humanitarian Action – Providing life-saving aid during disasters and conflict while promoting enhanced local humanitarian leadership, systems and policies and anticipatory action
All current Oxfam Pilipinas job opportunities can be found at the Work With Us page of the website or in our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Oxfam is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to ensuring diversity and gender equality within our organization. Women and people from diverse or marginalized groups are welcome to apply for these positions.
We have limited capacity to accept interns. We may accept a small number of applications from college students interested in undertaking a short-term internship with us, but we do not accept a set intake each year. All internship positions are arranged and appointed on an as-needs basis. Specific internship positions may be occasionally advertised on our website or in our social media pages.
From time-to-time, we receive requests from schools and students asking for help or advise on their specific research. However, it is challenging for us to advise students and researchers due to our limited resources and the need to prioritize our primary roles.
However, Oxfam produces a wealth of information covering various topics on national and international issues. You can view our Annual Report for an overview of our work and activities. You may also visit the Resources section of our website or find a great deal of information at Oxfam’s Policy and Practice Website.
Support
No, we do not have Oxfam stores in the Philippines. Please stay tuned for announcements in our social media or website on how you can support Oxfam Pilipinas through other means.
Partnerships
Partnership is at the crux of our work. We believe that the only way we can achieve our commitment of elevating the dialogue on gender and reducing injustice often committed to those who live in the periphery of society is by working through partners – organizations that can ensure Oxfam’s works and programs are translated into meaningful action.
If you have a partnership proposal you wish to send to us, please send them to info@oxfam.org.ph.
Please bear in mind that partnership does not automatically entail financial support or any type of funding on the part of Oxfam.
Unless Oxfam Pilipinas is a direct co-organizer of the event as part of our many projects, we do not accept solicitations or provide financial sponsorships for events, especially if they are unrelated to our work.
However, we can connect you with our partners that might be interested to work with you. For information, visit the Our Partners page for more information.
Unfortunately, Oxfam Pilipinas cannot provide direct financial aid or cash assistance to individuals messaging us through our contact channels, whether to request assistance for their medical bills or any other personal expenses. Our projects focus on communities rather than individuals as a more effective and efficient approach for long-term developmental outcomes.
Recipients of multi-purpose cash assistance as part of anticipatory action or as part of post-disaster humanitarian aid are typically selected with the coordination of local government units, local civil society partners and relevant government agencies. These communities have been pre-assessed and pre-registered to a financial service provider prior to receiving cash assistance.
We are an independent national organization and do not work towards a specific political or religious agenda. We have no membership or affiliation to any political party or religion.
While we do coordinate and work with legislators, government agencies and local government units while carrying out our work, we do not endorse any specific political candidates in the Philippines.
