Residents affected by Typhoon Kalmaegi (local name: Tino) in Barangay Lawaan II, Talisay City, Cebu, participated in a community clean-up drive on 11 April 2026, as part of the recovery efforts implemented by Community Organizers Multiversity and Oxfam Pilipinas, with the support of the Government of Canada.
In November 2025, the severe flooding brought by Typhoon Kalmaegi left houses by the river covered in mud and canals clogged with debris. Several low-lying communities in Talisay City experienced heavy flooding, displacing families and disrupting livelihoods as water levels rose rapidly during the storm.
Residents came together to clear waterways, reducing environmental hazards and preventing further flooding, as a testament to their commitment to rebuilding a safer, more resilient community.
