From the Philippines to the global feminist frontlines: Oxfam Pilipinas joins Women Deliver in Narmm (Melbourne), Australia

The work of civil society and particularly of women’s rights organizations and feminist organizations cannot be overstated in a field like SRHR, bringing the conversation from one of control to one of autonomy and choice.

Our Executive Director, Lot Felizco, stressed the need to invigorate the fight for women’s rights and autonomy in the face of growing counter-narratives and injustice not only in the Philippines but also across the world at the panel on “Holding the Line: Coalition Leadership for the Future of SRHR,” on 28 April 2026 at Women Deliver 2026.

She highlighted the power of women and girls for leadership and self-determination, while called on leaders and partners to safeguard the spaces that enable this power to flourish.

Oxfam Pilipinas will again join the panel on “Care at the Center of Climate Action: A collective journey for Resilient and Just Futures” on 30 April 2026, at 5 PM. The session is organized by the International Development Research Centre, United Nations Development Programme, Procomum, Climate and Care Initiative, AVINA, WEDO, Oxfam Canada, CHANGE, the Care and Climate Catalyst Asia Program, and Follow Taxes in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Care.

As feminist movements face growing backlash worldwide, bringing the Philippine experience to global spaces is both an act of solidarity and a strategy—sharing our victories, confronting our challenges, and building collective action that advance a just and equal future for all.
