Oxfam Pilipinas invites media practitioners, journalists, reporters, and multimedia or visual storytellers from the Philippines, whether individuals or teams, to participate in the Patas na Bukas Media Fellowship: Reporting on a Fair and Feminist Climate Future.
Oxfam Pilipinas invites media practitioners, journalists, reporters, and multimedia or visual storytellers from the Philippines, whether individuals or teams, to apply for the Patas na Bukas Media Fellowship: Reporting on a Fair and Feminist Climate Future.
As the Philippines remains the world’s most climate-vulnerable country, this media fellowship will equip participants with a feminist reporting lens and tools to produce compelling, justice-centered narratives that would influence public discourse and policy about climate justice.
Moreover, investing in media practitioners means investing in the power of storytelling to drive systemic change. This fellowship will foster informed reporting that highlights the intersection of climate justice, gender justice, and equality—ensuring that the most affected communities are heard and represented in determining solutions to the climate crisis.
The fellowship will run from March 2026 until June 2026. Selected fellows will receive training, mentorship, and support from experts and frontline communities, a platform to showcase their work, and a story grant worth Php85,000 to produce and publish their work.
Oxfam Pilipinas is a rights-based, feminist organization working toward an equal and just future for all. It is part of the Oxfam International confederation of 22 organizations networked together in over 70 countries. If you have a passion for storytelling, climate and gender justice, and would like to use your skills for impacted communities, then this is an exciting opportunity for you. To apply, please read the details below.
Objectives of the Media Fellowship
Capacity-building: Capacitate media practitioners in feminist analysis and climate justice to report on the gendered impacts of the climate crisis and intersectional issues.
Narrative shift using a feminist lens: Promote stories that highlight feminist analysis and climate justice demands from the grassroots and civil society organizations, moving beyond disaster coverage to focus on social accountability and solutions.
Network support: Support Oxfam Pilipinas and its partners’ work and media advocacy, while providing a platform for media fellows to promote their work.
